The Judo Federation of Australia has failed to have Judo included in the programme for the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018. This is a great disappointment and the CJA is unaware of why this is the case. The CJA has previously always provided support to the Judo Federations of countries hosting the Games in order to have Judo included in the Games however, on this occasion we received no request for any kind of assistance or support from the JFA.

This means that after Glasgow 2014 the next chance for Judo will be the Games in 2022. Judo Federations from countries planning to bid for the Games are urged to contact us at the earliest possible time so we can assist and get support from the IJF who will support the bids wholeheartedly.
